Hello My Voting Power Greenwich Community!
The special election to fill the newly open State Senate seat is approaching next month, August 17th. The political parties are in the process of naming candidates and building support among voters. This creates a unique opportunity for you to get involved and have a real influence over who is elected to represent Greenwich and parts of Stamford and New Canaan.
Below, we have detailed what we know so far about the potential candidates. Visit the links listed below to learn more about them, make an informed decision, and get involved in their campaigns.
One way to get involved is to help the candidate you support get on the ballot. For example, John Blankley is seeking placement on the ballot as an independent candidate, but first needs approximately 500 petition signatures to join the race. The form to sign the petition is attached below.
After research and consideration, if you choose to support Blankley or would like to volunteer for his campaign, contact (203) 249-7797 or john@blankley.com.
The democratic party has named Alexis Gevanter as their candidate in the race. You can find out more about her, her platform, and her career on her social media pages.
The republican party is looking to name their candidate on July 10th. Republicans vying for the nomination are Ryan Fazio, Leora Levy, and Harry Arora. Keep your eye on local publications for the announcement of the republican candidate.
